Shaktipat Gurus: Siddha Gurus to Awaken Kundalini Shakti
Shaktipat Siddha Gurus
My first sincere request to all those searching for a Guru - Please stop your Guru-search. Guru will come searching for you when you are ready. Believe me; Guru doesn't wait when the seeker is ready. The only thing you should do is to prepare your mind, the way farmer prepares the soil before seeding. Read more How do I prepare to receive grace from Guru?

Important Note: Self-Realization (The Bliss) is the goal of Siddha Yoga. It takes Consistent, Conscious and Sincere spiritual efforts of several decades (perhaps several lives) before one can attain Self-Realization. Please try to understand this Yoga, its benefits, its limitations and its restrictions before adopting this path. The least minimum effort you will need to do is – Meditation of at least 30-45 minutes every day. Siddha Yoga is ONLY for those who carry ability to do efforts in the long term. Do not follow Siddha Yoga if your timeline is of few months or years. It is NOT for YOU, Period!  SmileyFace

If and when you are serious about taking Shaktipat Deeksha I suggest you prepare your mind by reading following links. It is extremely important to understand the path you choose before you start your journey. One should start the travel ONLY after having directions and map to the destination. Please note: most of the people who start this journey leave it in the first few phases after the initial excitement is over.

Shaktipat Gurus:

PP. Shri Narayan Kaka Maharaj of Nashik, India is a leading teacher and exponent of Maha Yoga (Siddha Yoga), whereby a realized Guru (Siddha Guru) awakens the Universal Life Energy (Kundalini) within the Sadhak, eventually leading him/her to self-realization.

In 1950 Shri Narayankaka was initiated with a shaktipat deeksha by P.P. Shree Loknath Tirth Swami Maharaj, who came from Bengal. Shri Narayankaka embraced celibacy, practiced the path of the Siddha Yoga devoutly and has achieved the unique status of a Shaktipat Master. Nursing a desire that everyone be a follower of Siddha yoga, Shri Narayankaka's efforts to propagate the knowledge and information of this path are being relentlessly continued.

My Great Grand Siddha Guru or Parapara-Guru

Shree Loknath Tirth Swami Maharaj was one of the major proponents of Siddha Maha yoga who brought path of Shaktipat initiation and siddha yoga to south India. Shree Loknath Tirth Swami Maharaj had taken sanyas and was living ascetic life in solitude in the Himalayas when he was directed by mother Kundalini to go to south and spread Siddha kundalini yoga in south India (1920). This is when he left the solitude and came to Hoshangabad (MP) where he initiated P P Yogiraj Shree Gulavani Maharaj along with many others. Swami Maharaj granted Diksha Gurutva (right to give Shaktipat Diksha to others) to Shree Gulavani Maharaj in 1922. Later on Swamiji helped spread Shaktipat sadhana and Siddha kundalini yoga all over India.

Swami Loknath Tirth was born in 1892 in Dhaka. He learned pooja, yagnya in early childhood from his father. He loved to meditate in solitude. Later on Goddess herself ordered Swami to take diksha from Shree Shankar Bramhachari Purushottam Maharaj. At age 22, he also took Sanyas Diksha. Linage of his tradition goes from Adiguru Shree Gangadhar Teerth Maharaj, Shree Narayan Tirth Maharaj, Shree Purushottam Tirth Maharaj to Swami Loknath Teerth Maharaj. Swamiji took mahasamadhi in 1955 in Kashi.

Swami Maharaj granted Diksha Gurutva (right to give Shaktipat Diksha to others) to Shree Gulavani Maharaj in 1922. This was the major re-initiation of Siddha yoga with Shaktipat diksha in Maharashtra in recent centuries.

P P Yogiraj Shree Gulavani Maharaj was born in a village named Kudutri in Maharashtra in 1889. Initially he took diksha from P. P. Tembe Swami Maharaj and later on after seeking approval from P. P. Tembe Swami Maharaj, Shree Gulavani Maharaj took Shaktipat Diksha from P. P. Loknath Teerth Swami Maharaj in 1922 in Hoshangabad. P P Yogiraj Shree Gulavani Maharaj initiated tens of thousands of sadhakas in path of Siddha yoga through Shaktipat diksha. Yogiraj Shree Gulavani Maharaj was an Art teacher in his professional life. He built “Vasudev Nivas” Math in Pune in 1966. He also gave Diksha Grutva (right to give Shaktipat Diksha to others) to quite a few of his Adhikari followers. P P Srinivas (Dada) Nakhate Maharaj was one of his disciples who was given Shaktipat Diksha Gurutva by Yogiraj Shree Gulavani Maharaj.

My Sadguru

P P Srinivas (Dada) Nakhate Maharaj was Adhikari shaktipat Guru who initiated hundreds (probably thousands) of seekers of Shaktipat diksha in Siddha yoga. I am one of those fortunate people to receive Shaktipat diksha from my parampujya Sadguru. Shri Dada Nakhate Maharaj was a family person with two sons and a daughter and spent most of his life in Pune city in Maharashtra. Shri Dada Maharaj was a journalist during his working life. Shri Dada Nakhate Maharaj was initiated into siddha yoga by leading Siddha Guru P P Yogiraj Shree Gulavani Maharaj of Pune.

Yoga is an exact science. It aims at the harmonious development of body, mind and soul. Everyone should follow one Yoga as their primary Yoga (based on their character). Then we must combine Karma Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Gyan Yoga. This “Yoga Synthesis” will lead one to the God.
